Give the gift to grow a Central Australian leader
Join me in making a difference
Hello, I'm Donna Digby, a proud graduate of the Australian Rural Leadership Program (ARLP) and the founder of Territory Connect.
My journey with the ARLP transformed my life, giving me a broader perspective and connecting me with my inner courage. And I couldn't have done it without the support of the Tim Fairfax Family Foundation. It was a path that let me bring and express my unique "Territory" perspective, and now, I'm passionate about offering this opportunity to others in our region.
I've always believed in the power of visibility and representation – "You can't be what you can't see." This belief spurred my commitment, made on International Women's Day, to fundraise for a scholarship for a Central Australian leader living in the Northern Territory to experience the life changing ARLP.
The program not only broadened my perspectives but also empowered me with the courage and self-belief to collaborate and lead change. It's time for me to pass this torch and enable another deserving person from our region to experience this growth.
To kickstart this initiative, I've set up Territory Connect, a social enterprise aimed at creating opportunities like I had. Our first major initiative is the inaugural Leadership on Larapinta Fundraising Walk, scheduled for 23-31 May 2024 in Central Australia. This fundraising walk, led by Benji Kenny and the team from 100% Finke River Culture and Adventure, isn't just a physical journey; it's an opportunity to be guided by First Nations leaders and immerse yourself on Country.
The Larapinta Trail, one of the top 20 treks in the world, perfectly symbolises the leadership journey. Sometimes the path is clear, sometimes uncertain; it can be rocky or smooth, but we must keep moving forward. This fundraising walk is an opportunity for us to embrace First Nations culture and the rugged natural landscape, share leadership stories, and experience the breathtaking beauty of Central Australia.
